DAWSON CITY, YUKON, CANADA

Quick trip via Top of The World Highway!

semi-overcast

Wed. 6/13 is our traveling buddy, Cindy's 50th Birthday, so we headed up to Dawson City for an overnite in a hotel & celebrate Cindy's big 5 0! 5 hour drive of curvey, unpaved roads & then took a ferry to get to the darling old mining town of Dawson City. Felt like we had taken a step back into time. They've done a very good job keeping their history & structures in tact! It's a get there & walk around the town type of place!

WHITEHORSE, YUKON, CANADA

Capital City of Yukon!

semi-overcast

Short trip-only 100 miles. Roads are great! We'll stay a couple of days to stock up on supplies & catch up on business stuff. Went to a delightful show "Frantic Follies" A cast of 8 peeps loaded w/talent! Another hi-lite is Miles Canon (AKA: The Grand Canyon of the Yukon) We hiked along the Yukon River & watched canoe-ists paddling down the river. Good place to hike/bike/fish/paddle & golf. We weren't able to golf because they had a tournament going on-shucks!! Whitehorse even has a Walmart...!
Next stop - Tok, Alaska!!

Teslin, BC, Canada

Went about 170 miles to Teslin, BC. Dry camped on the lake shore @ Mukluk Annie's Salmon Bake. Family style restaurant-nice dinner, then a house boat ride across the lake w/our fellow campers. The captain is also the owner of the Mukluk Annies. Entertaining character. Only stayed 1 nite because we're anxious to get to ALASKA!!

MUNCHO LAKE, BC, CANADA

6/3-6/5/07

semi-overcast

Copy_of_Mu..ada__2_.jpgA real beauty of a lake & surrounding mountains. Our rig is parked on the lakefront. We watched the Seaplane take off in the early am flying tourists into remote mountain areas for fishing/hiking..... Jim went fishing in the float tube or "Belly Boat" as Canadians refer, eh! Very peaceful setting.
